Our Story
The Dynamic Balance Story
The name “Dynamic Balance” refers to an individual’s need to adapt to the many and varied and changing stresses they face in life to be able to thrive. Your body has to work its best to do that. Your central nervous system working optimally is the biggest factor in that.
The basic principles of chiropractic apply to all ages. We at DBC think everyone should have a properly functioning nervous system, so that they have their best chance to express their greatest health and vitality. Because the nervous system is housed inside the spine, when the spine isn’t working properly, the body can’t work like it is supposed to, and health can suffer.
Our Founder's Journey
We are Dr. Holly and Dr. Jeremy Barchman, and we are the founders of Dynamic Balance Chiropractic. We were both introduced to chiropractic care at a young age, and we felt the benefits in our own lives. We both decided to choose chiropractic as a career path at a young age.
After completing our undergraduate degrees, our paths finally crossed as we entered the same class at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Dr. J’s hometown of Davenport, Iowa, in 2002. A few years later, after getting married and graduating together, we practiced at a large clinic in Southeastern Wisconsin, before moving to Ontario to settle down, and start a clinic of our own.

Vision and Practice
Our vision is to blend the clinical knowledge we gained from our years of school and practice experience, with a high standard of customer service. DBC opened in the fall of 2008, with the stated aim of providing excellent chiropractic care with exceptional service.
Since then, we have built a team that is aligned with this vision to help us help people more effectively and efficiently. We all work with a common focus of making our patients’ bodies function and feel their best, no matter their age or stage in life.
Commitment to Advanced Care
We invest in the best technologies to assess how each person’s spine and nervous system is functioning. These check-ups allow our Doctors to make sure the plan of care is appropriate, and allows each patient to see how they are improving over the course of their care.
Whether a patient comes to DBC for a short time for relief of a specific complaint, or stays with us for years for wellness and prevention, we keep tabs on how their spine and nervous system is functioning, and work together to optimize their health.
Collaborative and Holistic Approach
We work with a committed group of local providers in other complimentary roles, so that we can provide guidance on a holistic plan of growth and healing, while maintaining focus on what we do exceptionally well: provide quality, individualized chiropractic care.
Ongoing Practice Investments
In 2020, we were able to expand our office space to allow for our continued growth, and we’ve been working to expand service hours to further improve availability for the many different schedules that the busy families we serve have to adhere to.
The Dynamic Balance Approach
The entire team at DBC is committed to doing great work, helping our patients to feel at home, forming a partnership to improve their health. All members of our team are open to questions and assistance at any time, and eager to help patients get the most from their care.
Stresses of life and lifestyle, from significant to mundane, all affect the health of our patients. We work with patients to help them understand those stresses, how to mitigate them, so they can improve their health outcomes and feel better faster. Exercise, nutrition, structural spine curve correction, and stress management are key components we can bring into care plans to help patients reach their goals faster.
Our bodies all work according to the same rules, but there are often differences needed in the approach we use to care that help individual patients get to their goals faster. That combined focus on an individual patient’s care and the relationship we form with them in the journey makes all the difference.

What To Expect
The First Visit
During this fact-finding visit, your chiropractor will sit down with you to discuss what brought you in and what your overall health goals are. We will then perform a computerized assessment followed by a hands-on chiropractic evaluation. If necessary, we will write a requisition for any X-rays that may be needed (these are covered by OHIP). This appointment takes 30-45 minutes.
After your initial appointment, your doctor will pull together all of the scans, x-ray images (if needed), and clinical information. Your doctor will formulate a plan for your care, and prepare that to discuss with you on your second visit.
It’s important to know that health is a journey not an event, so a single adjustment likely isn’t the answer. Our desire is for you to heal better, not simply feel better.
The Second Visit
When you return for this Report of Findings visit, we’ll lay out what we recommend based on what we found on the first day. We will thoroughly discuss your current state of health, explain how we can help, how long you can expect it to take, and what financial considerations would apply. If we feel that you would be better suited through other avenues of care that are not available in our office, we will help you find the best options available for you.
If you are an ideal candidate for chiropractic care in our office and would like to proceed, we will give you your first chiropractic adjustment and give relevant recommendations for what changes you could make outside our office to speed up the journey to your goals. This appointment takes 15-30 minutes.
Regular Visits
Once we’ve laid the groundwork for your care, a routine visit may only take a few minutes. That’s because we can efficiently and effectively assess the state of your spine and nervous system and give you the needed adjustments. You’ll be on your way in no time.
Like your daily workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. If you miss a visit, you risk losing the momentum necessary to make the required changes.
Because your time is valuable, we do everything possible to run on time so you can get back to your day. If you’re ready to get on the road to better health, contact us today to get started!
